Stothert & Pitt RFC invitation into the Rugby Football Union Capital Facility Investment Programme under the Whole Sport Plan for April 2010 – March 2011
The club is pleased to announce the receipt of the above invitation having been identified by Somerset County RFU as a priority site for the provision of 100 lux full pitch floodlights to our pitch immediately in front of the clubhouse and this invitation has been accepted.
General background work has been undertaken by the club and an approved contractor to install the floodlights has been agreed with the Rugby Football Union. This contractor also has the responsibility for obtaining planning permission.
The club has strict administrative obligations to undertake with the RFU that the management committee will oversee.
The Rugby Football Union’s financial contribution will be 50% of the total estimated cost of £40,000. The club has to fund the other 50% (£20,000) and has pledged £5,000 to the project leaving a sum of £15,000 to be found to complete the project.
As soon as this funding can be proved to the RFU as being in place and be it that planning permission has been approved the approved contractor will commence installation. (hopefully before the winter of 2010-11)
If any club member/colleague has any quick hit fund raising suggestions please contact me as below.
