Pre Season Training 1st July

Pre Season training for 2008-2009 will start on Tuesday 1st July. Coaches Roger Surrey and Jamie Knocker will be putting the players through their paces. There will be training on Tuesdays and Thursdays, sessions start at 6.30pm. Support the Captains for the Season Liam Crooks (1st XV), Mark Solomon (2nd XV). Everyone is welcome new players and old.

NEW ZEALAND v ENGLAND 21st JUNE

Liam Crooks was re-elected as Club Captain for the coming 2008-09 season at the recently held AGM Mark Solomon has been elected 2nd XV captain and a vacancy exists for the third XV captain.

SOMERSET CUP VASE DRAW

The preliminary and first round draws have been made for the Somerset Vase Cup. We did not get the best of draws being North Petherton away in the preliminary round. The date to be played still has to be confirmed

Pittfest returns by popular demand for 2008 on Saturday 14th June 2008. SIXTEEN STONE PIG Will be performing at STOTHERT & PITT RFC, Adamsfield, Corston. The electryfing event will kick start @ 7.00pm and last long into the early hours of Sunday morning. 2008 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - 10th JUNE

The club Annual General Meeting will be held at our Corston headquarters on Tuesday 10th June starting at 8.00pm. This is the members opportunity to elect the committee for the club along with team captains for the following year. Current members are asked to make every effort to attend.

Club coach Jamie Knocker scooped the Clubman of the Year Award at last Friday's(May 16th) annual dinner and presentation of awards John Mathews Proposed a most humurous toast to the club to which skipper Liam Crooks responded who also announced the seasons playing statistics (see home page for link) and also awarding the most unwanted trophy of the season. Chairman Charlie Dixon introduced the guests to which Tony Adams responded and in doing so urged all members and guests to promote the new lottery funded youth section by rigorously recruiting new members Other awards presented were:- Most improved player - ROB FRENCH Most up and coming player - JASON HUNT Most consistent 1st XV player - BEN WITHEY Most consistent 2nd XV player - J. 'REMINDER' - ANNUAL DINNER AND PRESENTATION OF AWA

The club annual dinner and presentation of awards will this year see a change of venue to the Bath Rugby Clubhouse at the recreation ground on Friday May 16th starting at 7.00pm. Tickets are available in advance only from Rod 'The Rocket' Saunders priced at �20.00. Please see Rod as early as possible to book your place. Guests speakers are our 'old friend'John Mathews from Stothert & Pitt Bowls Club who will propose the toast to the club in his, I am sure usual humurous manner, and Tony Adams, Chairman of Somerset RFU Facilities Committee, who will respond on behalf of the guests to skipper Liam Crooks words of wisdom and season's playing statistics Let's look forward to another enjoyable evening end of season dinner and presentation of awards and not to many bad heads the next day

EXTRA TIME VICTORY FOR THE CRANES IN VASE FINAL

The Cranes emerged victorious by 38pts - 29pts in an enthralling Bath Combination Vase Cup Final against Old Sulians at Bath's recreation ground last night in a match that was level at 24pts each at the end of normal time. Combination Vase Cup Final - Wednesday 7th May

The final of the Bath Combination Vase competion between ourselves and Old Sulians will be played at Bath's recreation ground on Wednesday May 7th. Kick off will be around 6.15pm but will be confirmed when known. Having lost both league matches against Old Sulians during the season The Cranes will be looking for a victory to go with the winners cup from the 20th Ghent International Rugby Festival. Playing squad to be announced.
